This policy explains how Trofficient collects, uses, protects, and shares information when people use our commuter, driver, operator, admin, and website services.
Information We Collect
- Account information such as name, email address, phone number, role, login credentials, and profile details.
- Location information, including foreground location for nearby buses and routes, and background location for driver shift tracking and active trip updates where enabled.
- Trip and booking information such as pickup points, destinations, routes, fares, tickets, trip status, and passenger-driver interactions.
- Payment and wallet metadata such as transaction references, payment status, provider responses, fare amounts, and refund or payout records. We do not store full card numbers.
- Device and diagnostic information such as device type, app version, crash logs, error reports, notification tokens, and security logs.
- Support and communication data such as messages, contact forms, waitlist submissions, and feedback.
How We Use Information
- Create and secure user accounts.
- Show nearby buses, route options, pickup points, and live trip progress.
- Broadcast driver and bus location to passengers, operators, and authorized platform staff during active service.
- Process bookings, tickets, payments, refunds, wallet activity, and driver payouts.
- Send important account, trip, payment, safety, and service notifications.
- Detect fraud, abuse, service misuse, security incidents, and operational errors.
- Improve routing, fleet operations, reliability, support, and product performance.
Sharing Information
We share information only when needed to operate Trofficient, comply with law, or protect users and the platform.
- Commuters may see driver, bus, route, and trip information needed for a booking.
- Drivers may see passenger pickup, booking, ticket, and trip information needed to complete a ride.
- Operators may see fleet, route, driver, booking, and revenue information for vehicles they manage.
- Service providers may process hosting, maps, payments, notifications, SMS, email, analytics, and crash-reporting data on our behalf.
- Authorities or legal parties may receive information where required by law, valid legal process, safety, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.
Location Data
Location is central to Trofficient. The commuter app uses location to find nearby buses, routes, pickup points, and live trip information. The driver app uses location to help drivers navigate and to broadcast bus position during active shifts or trips. Background location is used only where it supports active trip, shift, safety, or tracking features.
Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and improve safety. Some operational, payment, and compliance records may be retained after account closure where required by law or legitimate business needs.
Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards such as access controls, encrypted transport, restricted administrative access, monitoring, and secure credential handling.
Your Choices And Rights
- You can update account details in the app where supported.
- You can control app permissions such as location, camera, photos, and notifications from your device settings.
- You can request account deletion or data deletion at /delete-account.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information, subject to legal and operational limits.
